When ThinkFun, the leading creator of Mind Challenging Games, recently appointed John Esteban Chief Operating Officer, one of his first priorities was to align the company with its Core Values of innovation, passion, and fun. Remaining true to its mission, empowering the world to become better thinkers, the ThinkFun alignment has begun in the sales and finance departments.
David Butler has been hired as the Sr. National Sales Manager. Mr. Butler, who comes to ThinkFun with nearly 20 years of sales and operations management experience, will focus on the overall management of education and specialty toy retail accounts as well as manage the company’s third party rep groups. Before joining ThinkFun, Mr. Butler was the Regional Director of Sales for Washington Sports Club, where he was responsible for nearly $35 million in sales revenue within the Washington, DC/Baltimore region. Mr. Butler was also an Area Manager with Smithsonian Business Ventures, where he was responsible for sales and operations of several museum-based and satellite retail stores within the Smithsonian network. This experience, relevant to ThinkFun’s specialty toy market, makes Mr. Butler a valuable addition to the sales team.
Chuck Barrow, who was previously ThinkFun’s National Sales Manager for independent accounts, is responsible for growing business with key accounts such as Staples, Amazon.com and Meijer. Mr. Barrow has been an asset to ThinkFun for more than five years, where he fostered lasting relationships with the company’s many specialty toy retail accounts.
Tom Lacy joins ThinkFun as Director of Accounting and Finance and has a successful track record of building profitable companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Lacy most recently worked as Controller with buySAFE, Inc., a start-up private equity-backed trust and safety E-Commerce company. He is a CPA with nearly 20 years of experience in financial reporting, audit, strategic planning and revenue enhancement and will be an asset to ThinkFun’s finance and customer service teams.
With these newest hires, ThinkFun is “continuing to build a team that is passionate, fun and innovative,” according to John Esteban. “We are very fortunate to have each of these people on board at ThinkFun. Careful selection has gone into getting the right people for the right jobs. This alignment with our Core Values supports our focus on quality customer service and innovative product development as we continue to ignite the minds of kids and adults around the world.”
