Gen Con Indy 2016 Booth 1460
ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA – It’s an escape room. It’s a board game. And it’s available now for purchase in stores around the world!
ThinkFun is proud to introduce the world’s very first escape room themed board game, Escape the Room: Mystery at the Stargazer’s Manor. Solve the riddles to unlock the puzzles and escape the manor – all in the convenience of your home! Players must use scene cards, sealed envelopes, and a solution wheel to decode puzzles and decipher clues before the time runs out.
The game is based on the worldwide phenomenon of escape room events, where participants must uncover hidden clues to escape a locked room within a certain time limit. While these kind of escape rooms events must be held in a specific location, ThinkFun’s Escape the Room game can be played anywhere. ThinkFun combines the online world with the offline escape game through a one of a kind website that provides players with everything they may need including hints, music, costume suggestions, re-packing instructions and more.
“To create Mystery at the Stargazer’s Manor we studied Escape the Room events, and identified ways to bring that authenticity, challenge, and suspense to a game you can play anywhere,” said Bill Ritchie, ThinkFun, Inc. CEO and Co-Founder. “The game presses you to think critically and be creative, and calls for teamwork. It’s a great way for families to spend time together.”
To commemorate this year’s unveiling of Escape the Room: Mystery at the Stargazer’s Manor, ThinkFun will be hosting an “Escape the Booth” adventure at Gen Con Indy 2016. Escape the Booth is exclusive to Gen Con, and will be themed as a prequel to the events occurring in Escape the Room. Teams of six must solve a series of puzzles in under 20 minutes in order to successfully complete the mission. Escape the Booth is a free event, and will be held at Booth #1460.
Escape the Room: Mystery at the Stargazer’s Manor has been described as, “whimsical, cohesive, and family-friendly.” (source: Amazon) The game is for ages 10 to adult, and is best played with two or more players. MSRP: $21.99.
