ThinkFun’s Gravity Maze™ and Laser Maze™ Are Finalists for Toy Of The Year Awards

2015 is a year of celebration for ThinkFun, Inc. as it marks its 30th anniversary, the debut of an exciting lineup and Toy of the Year Finalist honors for its smash hits Gravity Maze™ and Laser Maze™. ThinkFun is the world’s leading developer of addictively fun games that build 21st century thinking skills.

Well-known as the “Oscars” of the toy industry, Toy of the Year awards are issued by the Toy Industry Association and represent favorite toys, games, and properties across 12 categories. This year’s finalists were selected from more than 600 nominees by 60 academics, journalists, toy trend experts, play therapists, toy inventors and designers, and toy retailers.

Gravity Maze

Finalist for Specialty Toy of the Year, Gravity Maze is the only marble run with a logic puzzle. Played solo, Gravity Maze engages kids ages 8 and up in building and solving as they arrange colorful, translucent towers to whisk their marble from starting point to target using engineering, visual perception and reasoning skills. With 60 challenges, the game offers lots of creative building time, but only one design will successfully carry the marble directly to the target. Finalist for Innovative Toy of the Year, Laser Maze is the only logic game with a real laser! Played solo, Laser Maze explores the synergy between light and logic as you beam, bend and split a laser using mirrors and targets to solve 60 challenges. Players ages 8 and up build logical deduction and visual perception skills, and the unique mechanics involved with splitting the laser beam builds proficiency in physics, geometry, and reasoning.
